Trifolium subterraneum

Trifolium subterraneum (Subterranean clover) is a diploid (2n=2x=16), predominantly inbreeding, annual species with a relatively small genome size of 540 Mb. It is a pasture legume native to the Mediterranean region and widely sown in southern Australia and other countries with Mediterranean-type climates.
