Glycine max

Glycine max (Soybean) is a partially diploidized tetraploid (2n=2x=40) legume crop with an estimated genome size of 1.115 Gb. The cultivated species of soybean was domesticated in China approximately 5000 years ago from a wild progenitor related to the closest extant relative, Glycine soja.
